«41 percent of the economic resources generated in the South returns to the North due to the numerous companies with registered offices outside our region that supply products to our region.
To this situation already criticismthere is the problem of Chinese products that continue to to excel in the city. Often, items passed off as handcrafted are actually of Chinese origin.
This deception damages not only consumers, but also our local artisans, who see their excellence put in danger by unfair competition.
People, eager to saveprefers to buy low-cost products, starting from the simple magnet, of dubious quality and origin, putting in crisis the historic shops and artisans who have made it famous Napoli for its tradition and mastery.
Our artisan excellences are at risk of close if we do not take immediate action. It is essential to raise awareness among both citizens and tourists about the importance of supporting the local economy and authentic products.
We have to to protect our traditions and our cultural heritage, which are an integral part of the Neapolitan identity.”
The counselor Muscarà invited the competent authorities to “monitor more carefully the marketensuring that products sold as handcrafted are truly such, and to promote policies to support local businesses. Only in this way can we guarantee a future for our artisan excellence and preserve the authenticity of our city”. (ANSA).
