The same request was made by the Municipality of Bari, by the ministries and by the FIGC

It took place this morning, in the Criminal Court of Barithe first hearing of the trial arising from theinvestigation by the Bari DDA called “Internal Code” regarding the exchange of political-mafia votes. During the hearing, the Puglia Region has asked to join the civil action.
The President of the Puglia Region was present Michael Emilianowho at the end declared: “As always, the Puglia Region constitutes itself as a civil party in a trial for mafia crimes. The punctuality with which both the Municipality of Bari and the Region have constituted themselves for years now in all trials is a sign of the determination with which local institutions, alongside the offices of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, also support the fight against criminal organizations“.
Emiliano: “I reject proximity, collusion and even indifference to the phenomenon”
“Through this road the idea of the refusal of any type of closeness, collusion or even simply indifference towards the mafia phenomenon. This is a very important message, which is why I decided to come in person to join the civil action in this trial, which has a particular importance due to the media coverage in the months leading up to the elections,” added Emiliano, speaking on the sidelines of the hearing.
Municipality of Bari, ministries and FIGC ask to be constituted as civil party
In addition to the Puglia Region, also the Municipalities of Bari and Altamura, the Ministries of the Interior, Economy and Finance and Justice, the FIGC and the Amtab of Bari they presented, through their respective lawyers, application for civil action on the occasion of the first hearing of the trial, in court in Bari, arising from the Internal Code investigation of the Bari DDA on the political-mafia vote exchange. The investigation on February 26th resulted in the execution of 130 arrests. One strand also concerns the matches of the excellence football championship, between Corato and Fortis Altamura played between 2017 and 2018.
