In Liguria, the summer sales begin on Saturday 6 July 2024 and end on Monday 19 August 2024.
The Conference of the Presidents of the Regions and Autonomous Provinces-Cinsedo approved provision no. 11/31/CR11f/C11 of 24 March 2011 entitled: Single guidelines of the regions on the identification of the start date of end-of-season sales, with which the regions agree to make the start date of end-of-season sales uniform throughout the national territory, identifying the first Saturday of July for the summer sales and committing to follow up on this decision with their own actions.
The Liguria Region has implemented in its own legislation (regional law n.1/2007 and subsequent amendments and additions) the contents of the document of the Conference of the Presidents of the Regions and Autonomous Provinces-Cinsedo as specified above, setting the date of the summer sales on the first Saturday of the month of July.
However, since the Conference of Regions and Autonomous Provinces in the session of 22 March 2023 approved the proposal to postpone the start of the summer sales throughout the national territory from Saturday 1 July 2023 to Thursday 6 July 2023, and having taken note of the favorable opinion on the postponement proposal expressed by the trade associations of the most representative commerce companies at regional level, the Liguria Region, with regional decree no. 318 of 6 April 2023, has provided that:
Summer sales 2024 start Saturday 6th July and end Monday 19th August 2024
Promotional sales are prohibited starting from Monday 27 May 2024
The sales last 45 days and at least three days before the date of the sales a sign clearly visible from the outside must be displayed announcing the sales.
Attention is drawn, in particular, to Article 113 of Regional Law No. 1/2007 and subsequent amendments and additions which, in paragraph 2, with reference to promotional sales, establishes the following:
No promotional sales may be made in the forty days preceding the end-of-season sales or sales for the same category of seasonal or fashion products traditionally subject to end-of-season sales. The same category of products means:
clothing
footwear
underwear
clothing accessories
leather goods
Therefore, the promotional sales indicated above cannot be carried out starting from Monday 27 May 2024.
