A joint operation by the Guardia di Finanza and the Pescara Prosecutor’s Office led to the arrest of five people and the issuing of three residence orders, dismantling an organization dedicated to drug dealing between Rome and Pescara.

The investigations, launched in 2022, they revealed a sophisticated online drug sales system, managed by a Pescara family and assisted by a minor.

The drugs, purchased in the drug dealing areas of Tor Bella Monaca and San Basilio in Rome, it was then resold in Pescara through a dedicated Telegram group.

A real virtual “drug supermarket”:

  • Wide assortment: Cocaine, hashish and marijuana were advertised with photos and prices.
  • Orders 24/7: Customers, via an invitation link, could order the drug 24 hours a day, making appointments and collections.
  • Home delivery: The goods were delivered to Pescara by rental car or bus, or even inside the prison by accomplice inmates.

A mind-boggling turnover:

  • Over 45 kg of drugs seized: The investigations documented the sale of over 45 kg of drugs, for a value of over one million euros.
  • 6 kg of hashish, 20 grams of cocaine and 2,000 euros in cash seized in the act: In collaboration with the Penitentiary Police, drug seizures were also carried out inside the prison.

A hard blow to drug trafficking:

The operation, which led to the arrest of the main exponents of the drug dealing network and the seizure of large quantities of drugs, represents an important step forward in the fight against drug trafficking between Rome and Pescara.
