Shortly after 6am today (Tuesday) the Fire fighters intervened along the A4 motorway, just before the new Montecchio Maggiore toll booth junction in the direction of Verona, due to a fire in the tractor unit of an articulated lorry: no one was injured. The driver of the heavy vehicle, which was transporting packaged furniture, got out before the vehicle caught fire. The fire brigade teams arrived from Vicenza and Arzignano with two fire engines, two tankers and 10 operators, extinguished the flames, avoiding the involvement of the semi-trailer. The fire also affected four noise-reduction panels at the edges of the roadway. (LaPresse)
