TORINO – Thursday, July 4, 2024thousand of farmers coming from all over Piedmont they will meet in Turin to demonstrate against thewild boar emergencywhich is having serious repercussions on health, economy and environment in the region.
The initiative, promoted by Coldiretti Novara-Vcowill bring a cry of protest under the skyscraper of the Piedmont Regiona symbolic point chosen to draw the attention of the institutions.
The procession, scheduled for 20:30will see the participation of a large delegation of farmers and breeders, including the President Fabio Tofi and the Director Luciano Salvadoritogether with the highest officials of Coldiretti Piemonte and the provincial Federations. The entire regional council will also be present, together with the Piedmont representative Annagrazia Basile and a delegation of volunteers from the Association of Relatives and Victims of the Road.
The wild boar emergency
The situation has become unsustainable for farmers, who are reporting health damage, social, cheap e environmental caused by the excessive presence of wild boars. These wild animals not only transmit diseases and devastate crops, but also represent a threat to public safety, increasing the risk of road accidents and invading urban centers.
During the event, aexhibition to show the damage suffered from agricultural production and the risks to which producers are exposed due to the uncontrolled presence of wild boars. Furthermore, a poster will be presented with clear requests to regional institutions to take urgent and effective measures to manage the wild boar population and restore safety in rural communities.
