Coach Domenico Di Carlo was interviewed by Alessio Alaimo for “TMW” expressing his opinion on various topics, on Serie B and on Palermo.
Here are his words:
“The European Championship? It wasn’t the usual Italy. We expected a more dynamic, aggressive Italy. From the outside, however, the impression is that there was little. However, I am convinced that Spalletti with his technical and management skills will be able to bring out the best.”
Are there no technical resources?
«No. The boys gave their all but their team spirit wasn’t at its best and you pay for that on the pitch».
So it’s not a problem of human material…
“Obviously not, the players are there. Spalletti will have to be good at finding new motivations, new lifeblood. And we mustn’t throw away everything that has been done so far.”
What will Serie A be like next year?
“Inter will start as favorites again this year. They kept Inzaghi even when things weren’t going well. Juve with Thiago Motta will find new motivations and a new way of working. Napoli will have to be the surprise of the championship, I’m convinced that after a tournament that wasn’t up to par they will want to redeem themselves”

«After the relegation, Sassuolo will surely be one of the favourites together with Palermo who last year did not show continuity and this year will fill the gaps.: he took a coach like Dionisi who is experienced and prepared. I hope Samp can do better than last year. As a Ciociaro I’m sorry for Frosinone’s relegation, Stirpe and Angelozzi are two important football men and I hope they return to Serie A immediately.
