The Central Cafe opened its doors at the end of April 2024, 19B rue de Châtillon, on the esplanade of theat Rennes stationsouth side. In this new neighborhood café, customers can sit down and enjoy a drink or taste a sweet or savory treat before boarding the train or upon arrival in the Breton capital.

Rennes Connect is a collective that brings together traders from the Rennes train station district. Currently, around twenty independent establishments are members: hotels, wine merchants, bakeries and grocery stores, secret bars and restaurants with multiple and themed offers. Among them, The Central Cafe managed by Marie, the manager. The group financed it, Marie had the idea for the products and I had the idea for the design. ” says Brian, who is in charge of marketing.
Taking its name from the Viennese coffee houses of the late 19th century, hotspots of the Viennese intellectual scene, The Central Cafe offers a quick food menu with a touch of originality. The place offers a bakery and pastry side, but the team also prepares 100% buckwheat waffles, their specialty. Discover three seasonal savory recipes: the “Caesar” with chicken, the “Mozza” and the “Océane” with salmon. On the sweet side, three recipes are also on the menu: jam, salted butter caramel and chocolate banana. The idea would be to make seasonal waffles.
