Last Friday the first meeting of the members of the association was held in the council chamber. Renewable Energy Community (Cer) promoted by the Municipality.
The Cer of Capannori, the first in the province of Luccahas taken the legal form of an unrecognized association to which the Municipality has joined as an honorary member. It will be unique for the entire territory and will include the 7 primary electricity cabins that cover the entire territory The association is made up of approximately 50 members including private citizens, cooperatives, small and medium-sized businesseswho have joined as consumers, consumer-producers or simply producers of renewable energy and has the objective of promoting the diffusion of renewable energy in the Capannori area, in particular photovoltaic, but not only.
During the first meeting, attended by the environmental councillor Claudia Berti, the board of directors was elected. Piero Tartagni, Enrico Cecchetti, Gianni Campioni, Rossana Butori, Giuseppe Barone are part of it.The board of directors will meet on July 10 to elect the president. Both the Board of Directors and the President will remain in office until December 31, 2024.
“With the election of its representative bodies, the work to concretely give life to the first renewable energy community of Capannori has come to life – explains the environmental councillor, Claudia Berti -. The goal is to form an increasingly large group of citizens, associations, commercial activities, local authorities, small and medium-sized businesses that equip themselves with one or more shared systems for the production and self-consumption of energy from renewable sources, mainly photovoltaic systems, but not only. An important step forward towards an energy scenario based on distributive energy that favors the development of zero-kilometer energy and therefore the energy transition. The first assembly highlighted the desire to further expand the membership base and, very importantly, to distribute a small portion of the profits for social purposes. I therefore invite citizens to seize this important opportunity”.
