A memorandum of understanding to encourage the use of public transport to discover the beauties of the Etruscan Coast, in the province of Livorno, and thus experience an ecological and safe summer, favoring the choice of the bus rather than private transport.

This is the meaning of the agreement shared between the Costa degli Etruschi Tourist Board and Autolinee Toscane and presented to Castagneto Carducci, the leading Municipality of the project together with the other Municipalities namely Cecina, Santa Luce, Rosignano Marittimo, Castellina Marittima, Riparbella, Montescudaio, Guardistallo, Casale Marittimo, Bibbona, Sassetta, San Vincenzo, Suvereto, Campiglia Marittima and Piombino.

Present were Alessandro Giardi, operations manager of the Livorno office of at and Riccardo Nannipieri, coordinator of Communication and Marketing of the Northern Department of at. Together with Cristiano Pullini, councilor for tourism and transport of the Municipality of Castagneto Carducci, and Marco Pavoletti, coordinator of the Costa degli Etruschi area.

The aim of the agreement is to encourage the use of the bus for tourism, cultural and leisure purposes towards tourist locations in the Municipalities of the Area and in particular for a sustainable mobility project.

“Throughout Tuscany, at is carrying out the “Estate in bus” project – explains Andrea Buonomini, Director of the Communication and Technology area of Autolinee Toscane – which we strongly believe in and which we are implementing in various territories precisely to promote the bus as the ideal means of discovering the beauties of our region. These are maps that help residents and tourists reach the coast and islands of Tuscany in an easy, ethical and sustainable way, using the bus. Each map indicates beaches and descents to the sea, places of cultural and artistic interest, useful reference points (at-bus.it/estateinbus).

“In this area – Buonomini adds – we are focusing on the message “Choose the bus” which includes multiple tools, such as new dedicated maps, both paper (distributed at information points) and digital (on the website at-bus.it, at bus app and at social channels), distributed to highlight all the bus services that can be used between Donoratico and Castiglioncello and between San Vincenzo and Piombino. Furthermore, we have completely graphically decorated some buses with our campaigns, such as the one presented today which will be used on the route of line 006 (Marina di Castagneto-Donoratico-Castagneto-Sassetta) so as to represent a further element of valorization of the project, and the one that will travel the roads between Piombino and San Vincenzo, declining the message “Enjoy the Val di Cornia-Choose the Bus””.

The project covers the entire Etruscan Coast with four customized buses, including Castagneto and Sassetta, in Val d Cornia and between Rosignano and Cecina.

“Thanks to the fruitful collaboration between Autolinee Toscane – says Pullini – and the Municipality of Castagneto, as leader of the Area, it was possible to enhance the existing public transport lines for summer users, starting a coordination process with the public transport manager who, in the future, will be able to develop further improvements towards increasingly sustainable mobility”.

Autolinee Toscane reminds that, with the Tip Tap campaign, contactless payment is active on its entire fleet to purchase tickets on board without additional costs using credit, debit, prepaid cards, smartphones and wearables enabled by the Mastercard, Visa and American Express circuits.
