Civitavecchia – Port

Civitavecchia – 41 million euros coming for 16 Italian Port System Authorities.

The amount was allocated and distributed by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, together with the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

The funds – we read in a ministerial note released yesterday – they are intended for works to improve the competitiveness of Italian ports and to make rail and modal transfer within them more efficient“.

The resources were allocated to each Port Authority for a share of 80% (equal to 32.8 million) with a criterion proportional to the value added tax actually produced in each port system and for the remaining 20% (equal to 8.2 million) according to an equalisation criterion inversely proportional to the tax produced in each port.

For the Port System Authority of the Central-Northern Tyrrhenian Sea, which includes the ports of Civitavecchia, Fiumicino and Gaeta, 537,858 euros will arrive from the first instalment and 1.4 million from the second.

This last amount will be used for the maintenance of the docks of the port of Civitavecchia in order to guarantee their functionality.
