ANCONA – There is an open case for manslaughter in the death of the 12-year-old boy who drowned in the sea on Saturday, in Falconara. It was opened by the public prosecutor Ruggiero Dicuonzo who has not yet registered any suspects. The prosecutor has not ordered an autopsy on the body of the child, Abdou Diokhane, born in Italy but of Senegalese origin, because he considered the external inspection carried out by the coroner to be exhaustive and which highlighted that there were no traumas on the body of the minor and not even accidental wounds. The child therefore did not hit rocks or walls before drowning in the water.

The investigation has been entrusted to the Carabinieri who will have to interview the two minors who were at the seaside with the 12-year-old when the tragedy occurred. The group of children were playing between the water and the Bedetti platform when the 12-year-old was seen struggling and falling under the water without resurfacing. The friends themselves raised the alarm asking for help. No third-party liability is identified regarding the safety of the pier which has not been seized. The investigation is continuing by interviewing all the witnesses to the incident. On the beach yesterday there were rumors about a possible push that the child may have received while he was on the pier but this will be a reason for investigation by the Carabinieri. In the meantime, the body has been cleared to be taken back to Senegal where the funeral will take place. Tomorrow the funeral chapel will be set up inside the Pieroni funeral home, in via Marconi. There will be a Muslim rite behind closed doors. The family had recently moved to Castelferretti.
