On October 11th in Trieste there is talk of “sudden cardiac death”

The date is October 11th. On that day, international experts coming mainly from the Balkan area will meet at the University of Trieste for a meeting entitled: Sudden Cardiac Death in the Balkan Area: beyond what we know and directions for the future research.

This is the first international meeting of this group which, in the Scientific Secretariat, sees the presence of “our” Prof. Stephen D’ErricoProfessor of Forensic Medicine at the local University.

So the Prof. D’Errico presents the event:

The event, aimed at all professionals interested in the topic of sudden cardiac death, includes three round tables (cardiologists, geneticists, pathologists), preceded by the lectio magistralis of Prof. Mary Sheppard, dedicated to “sudden cardiac death and guidelines”.
The Coordination Center of the Regional Registry of Sudden Cardiac Deaths in Young People of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, after an initial three-year period of activity, is opening its doors to the countries of the nearby Balkan area (and beyond) and is doing so with an event that aims to share methodologies and results and to open up new research perspectives, through a multidisciplinary comparison.
The event is sponsored by the Italian Society of Cardiology (SIC), the Italian Society of Human Genetics, SIMLA and COMLAS, the Balkan Academy of Forensic Sciences (BAFS), the International Academy of Legal Medicine (IALM), the Society of Cardiology of North Macedonia, the Society of Forensic Medicine of North Macedonia, the Serbian Society of Molecular Biology, the Serbian Society of Genetics, the Serbian Society of Forensic Medicine and the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
The event is in the process of being accredited (4.2 ECM credits) and registration will be open soon. Registration is free.
