The Agreement states: “The Parties agree on the value of signing this Framework Agreement, intended as the formal establishment of “Catanzaro City that studies”, with the aim of making the City increasingly student-friendly, collecting ideas and suggestions even directly from the protagonists.
The project, in particular, takes the form of an instrument of mutual collaboration between the Municipality and the Parties – translated into the commitments undertaken by each in the continuation of this Agreement – instrumental in guaranteeing the effective achievement of the aims and objectives set out in the previous paragraph” .

Article 6 of the Agreement illustrates the priority areas of intervention: places of study (libraries and study rooms), places of living (residences, accommodation and rentals), places of research, places of culture, places of sporting practice, places of free time, transport and sustainable mobility, communication, information, participation, tourist reception and promotion, training offer, orientation and work, exchange of skills and Observatory of public policies and finally internationalisation.

“It is an event that we have been waiting for a long time,” he declared. Flowery – and, after a dense network of relationships with all the institutions involved, today we have reached a signature that designs a city that for the first time thinks of students and begins to think like a real university city. It is a big step forward, but it is also the beginning of a new season which will open with the inauguration of the study room in Catanzaro Lido and the residential complex in Via Cilea which will be ready in September”.

The Magnificent Rector Cuda he then added: “The history of this city is characterized by fragmented initiatives, that is, that each person carries out on their own. Now, however, these initiatives are being put into a system, which allows us to prepare an organic program that brings significant and important benefits to the city, to our students and to the citizens themselves, who will then be the beneficiaries of these operations. The action is 360 degrees and goes from research to art, to culture, and therefore I really expect very important results. It will be a matter of working very hard, being present and on the ball, because an agreement is signed quickly, especially now that it can also be done digitally, but the actions that follow are the most important moment, so we must be very careful and focused on those”.

The councilor Monteverdi went into more detail about the Agreement: “I like to clarify two points and one is the working method: the student components will also be involved, something we were very keen on, because the students are not only those we address, but those we must listen to in the proposals, since they are the custodians of the dreams and needs of this city. We will therefore have a permanent work and monitoring table, because otherwise things don’t work if we don’t put them into practice. At the table there will be university students and also a working group that will include students from all institutions. This is a point of great significance, because it is necessary for the young people of our city to talk to each other, and therefore the kids who study at the Academy, the Conservatory and the University exchange ideas and visions”.

And he underlines: “The Agreement also provides for the formation of a monitoring system made by all bodies, which can accompany students in their future professions. For this reason we considered the participation of the Chamber of Commerce to be fundamental as a point of connection between training and the world of work”.

On transport he concludes: “Next week there will be the first meeting with AMC to find solutions on transport policy, which seems to us to be one of the central elements”.
