BARI – Since 04:00 this morning, approximately 70 Carabinieri of the Provincial Carabinieri Command of Barletta-Andria-Trani – supported in the executive phase by the specialized units of the Helicopter Squadron Carabinieri Hunters Puglia, of the 6th Carabinieri Helicopter Unit of Bari and of the Dog Unit of Modugno and in collaboration with the Carabinieri Company of Desio (MB), where one of the suspects is located – at the conclusion of complex investigations coordinated by the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Trani, are executing the order for the application of the precautionary measure, issued by the GIP of the Court of Trani – at the request of the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Trani – against 13 suspects (4 in prison; 9 under house arrest), considered to be seriously suspected, to varying degrees, of the sale, offer for sale, distribution and marketing of narcotic substances and the importation, transportation and sale of tobacco. smuggled foreign products, which arrived in the port of Bisceglie by sea, on board local fishermen’s boats.
The precautionary measures were issued following the investigation called “Recover”, conducted by the military of the Bisceglie Tenancy, starting from June 2022.
