Citizens launch an SOS for the lake in the public park of Villa Guglielmi in Fiumicino, the “green lung” of the city: the body of water, a “place of the heart” for many residents, for a few days, it has been progressively drying upa problem also linked to high temperatures.

Visitors to the green area, including families and jogging enthusiasts, they launch an appeal to the municipal administration to monitor and buffer the situation, so that the water can gradually return to normal levels. Furthermore, the lake, where fish and turtles live, is a daily and privileged resting and drinking point for the many birds and wild animals that “are at home” in the naturalistic habitat of Villa Guglielmi.

Some also observe that with the lowering of the water level, waste thrown by uncivilized people also emerges from the seabed. Likewise, citizens complain, and it is not the first time, about the lack of civic sense and decorum of some visitors who deface the park by abandoning waste along the paths, picnic tables and sports trails.

As far as we know, the municipal administration is carrying out checks to see if there are any malfunctions in the water supply and recycling system and consequently possibly to find a solution.
