Savona. On Tuesday 2 July at 8:30 pm in the Church of San Pietro Apostolo, in via Untoria, the five young people leaving for the experience at the mission of Monassao, in the Central African Republic, promoted by the Service for Missions and Migrations of the Diocese of Savona-Noli, will receive the missionary mandate during a moment of prayer presided over by Bishop Calogero Marino. Their parents, family and friends will also be present.

The three girls and two boys are aged between 18 and 35 and for about a month they will work in the mission together with the priest from Finale Don Michele Farina, who serves there as “fidei donum” (in Latin “gift of faith”), expression that indicates diocesan priests, deacons and lay people sent to carry out a temporary service in a mission territory where a diocese already exists with an agreement between the bishop who sends them and the one who receives them.

“The group that has been created is united and cohesive and also includes those who for various work or personal reasons will not take part in the next summer ‘mission’ – declares the Diocesan Service – We are already hypothesizing the actions for a profitable pastoral impact with the first initiatives of the next pastoral year 2024-2025 and a new trip to Monassao in 2025″.
