First municipal council of Pavia
Today, Monday 1 July 2024, marks a turning point for the city of Pavia with the official settlement of new mayor Michele Lissia and his centre-left council. The first meeting of the City Council, summoned for this evening at Half Beard Palace, will mark the beginning of a new chapter for the Pavia community. The president of the assembly will also be elected during the session.
Last week’s meeting
The council of the new administration of Pavia was already met last week. A first session called for a detailed analysis of the projects underway with the aim of presenting a clear and structured framework during the City Council meetingand, set for this evening.
Among the first actions under consideration are, as specified in a post on Facebook by the new mayor: the Municipal Swimming Pool in via Folperti, the Pavia Ovest Middle School, the maintenance of the city, sustainable mobility, the Santa Clara library, the promotion of Culture, Sport, Educational Policies.
One of the key objectives also remains the construction of the north station in viale Brambilla, fundamental for the strengthening of the S13 railway line and the Milan-Genoa connection. A project that will not only improve access to hospital facilities in Pavia, but will also strengthen the urban infrastructure.
During the first meeting, Mayor Lissia also underlined the urgency of reviewing the general mobility plan: the limiting private traffic around schools It’s just the first step towards a safer and more livable city.
Delegation management
The council, made up of nine councilors with specific skillslook at one integrated management of delegations, avoiding watertight compartments and promoting transversal sharing of ideas and projects. The approach reflects the values of sobriety, harmony and intense work that will guide the administration over the next five years.
With a balanced mix of consolidated experience and new energy, the new administration is ready to get to work to create a more modern, inclusive and sustainable Pavia.
