“ColoriAmo la città” is the motto of the first summer party for kids in the diocese of Foggia-Bovino which will take place on July 27th.
The initiative, strongly desired by Archbishop Giorgio Ferretti, is organized by the diocesan Youth Pastoral Service together with the Salesians for Social Affairs as part of the Oratory Protocol signed between the Region and the dioceses of Puglia. The aim is to bring together – explains a note – all the entities involved in the summer Grest in one big party which sees children, teenagers, very young people and young people as the absolute protagonists. For years now, children’s summer has been a tradition that attracts over eight thousand children and teenagers in the diocese and a thousand very young people in the various parishes. The event will start at 5pm with a moment of entertainment, bans, stand games, urban games and will close at 8.30pm with the speech of Msgr. Ferretti and a flash mob. The underlying theme of the initiative is legality which becomes “a common desire to be raised as an anthem and a cry of hope for the present and future of our city which wants to return to wearing the colors of love, peace, responsibility and cooperation . Children and young people themselves – adds the diocese when presenting the initiative – become witnesses of this need. It is from them that the useful change starts to sweep away the torpor of a reality accustomed to logics ‘devoid of colors and light’. The outgoing Church, strongly supported by Pope Francis, supports and encourages young people to change course and act for the common good.”
