“Although with enormous delay, the right-centre governors of the Basilicata and Calabria regions have rightly expressed absolute opposition, condemning the very serious mistake of the Meloni government. It is even more embarrassing how governor Schifani and his circle, as well as the Sicilian parliamentarians in the majority in Rome, do not take a firm position in opposing this wicked legislative path. This law will only worsen the services, schools, transport, hospitals and infrastructures of the regions already in economic and social difficulty, leading to an inexorable depopulation of these territories, especially for our Sicily. It is therefore – concludes Giambona – the time for Schifani to cease being Meloni’s servant and hostage, effectively following up on the mandate given to him for the protection of the interests of the Sicilians.”
