Reggio Emilia After the “Marionette and Avant-garde” exhibition and that of Susanne Meiselas, the Palazzo Magnani Foundation presented yesterday, in the presence of the mayor Massari and the president of the Province Zanni, the program of the next exhibition season which includes a permanent artistic intervention and three exhibitions opening in the months of September, October and December.

Palazzo da Mosto will host, from 21 September to 24 November 2024, the retrospective dedicated to Luciano Bertoli, for the first time in his city after his death in 2021. The exhibition is entitled “The Curves of Mandelbrot”, curated by Martina Corgnati with the title which refers to one of the main series present in the exhibition and includes works that highlight the artist’s strong interest in the exact sciences. The main corpus of the exhibition, aimed at rediscovering the restless personality of Luciano Bertoli, is composed of the paintings called, precisely, “In the meantime”. The Mandelbrot curves, created from the second half of the 1990s to the beginning of the 2000s, remained substantially unpublished. The exhibition itinerary is completed by some previous works to present to the public the essential components of an experimental path in materials and techniques and always supported by a genuine curiosity for the world of machines and technology. The exhibition is accompanied by a catalog published by Silvana Editoriale with a critical text by Martina Corgnati.

To the Cloisters of San Pietro The exhibition Another Step will be open on 11 October and until 9 February, curated by Marina Dacci, dedicated to David Tremlett through around seventy works – drawings and collages made from 1969 to 2023 – linked to a specific studio production and mostly never exhibited. The exhibition will place alongside The Organ Pipes, the permanent artistic intervention at the Ex Caffarri, one of the largest that Tremlett has ever built, on the 13 silos and the facade of the building to create the visible sign of a completely regenerated place dedicated to community training and aggregation. Finally, from 7 December 2024 to 2 March 2025, Palazzo da Mosto will be for Davide Benati who, after the exhibitions at the Civic Museums (1992) and at Palazzo Magnani (2003), returns to exhibit in his hometown, presenting an overview of his entire artistic journey, now forty years old, through historical and unpublished works. The solo show, entitled Encantadas, opens with the production of the early 1980s, which gave Benati notoriety: large-format watercolors on rice paper of refined sensitivity, ethereal images that unite East and West, dream and reality. The exhibition then presents a selection of works created between the nineties and the beginning of the new millennium: large canvases with which the artist also presented himself at the Venice Biennale. The itinerary, which is made up of around 50 works, ends with a series of large unpublished triptychs GB © ALL RIGHTS RESERVED
