POZZUOLI/ Longobard-Beneduce man escaped with a rope from Livorno prison – Flegrea Chronicle

LIVORNO – The 36-year-old Umberto Reazione from Puteola, a historic member of the now former Longobardi-Beneduce clan, has escaped from the high-security department of the “Le Sughere” prison in Livorno. According to what has been reconstructed, Reazione was out walking during exercise time, when he climbed over the surrounding wall with the help of a rope. There was probably an accomplice waiting for him outside the prison with whom he would later escape. According to what “Il Terreno” reports, the incident occurred in the early afternoon of Saturday and only after two hours did the guards notice it.

THE CONVICTIONS – Umberto Reazione was serving several sentences, including one of 9 years, 2 months and 20 days for Camorra-type association during the “Iron Men” trial which was added to a previous one of 6 years for a theft committed in the municipality of Pozzuoli and a supermarket robbery. Reazione was part of the gang of eight “mavericks” of the criminal group of the repentant Napoleone Del Sole, a gang which also included Angelo Di Domenico known as “o gnurant” and Giovanni De Felice who for months carried out extortion against the managers of video poker in Licola, Monterusciello and Toiano.

WITHOUT CONTROLS – A situation which for the prison police union Uilpa would have been possible due to the inadequate presence of staff on duty, who would not have been able to guarantee stable protection of either the walkways or the surrounding wall. Searches were carried out immediately by the penitentiary police and the police forces which, at the moment, however, have not yet yielded any results.
