Born in Rome on 19 March 1976, he grew up in the Lazio youth team where he became captain and flag, winning 1 Scudetto as well as 2 Italian Cups, 2 Italian Super Cups, 1 Cup Winners’ Cup and 1 European Super Cup. On 31 August 2002 he made his historic move to Silvio Berlusconi and Adriano Galliani’s AC Milan, where in ten years he confirmed himself as one of the strongest defenders in the world and won ten titles.
