EMFFA 2021-2027: the States General of Fisheries and Aquaculture begins

The event is included by the European Union in the European Maritime Day 2024 calendar

(REGFLASH) Pescara, 12 June. – After the 2023 meetings, the “States General of Fisheries and Aquaculture in Abruzzo”: an event promoted by Abruzzo regionfromAgriculture and Fisheries Department and from Local Development and Fish Economy Service – scheduled Friday 14 June at 9.30amat the Camplone Hall of the Chieti – Pescara Chamber of Commerce – to discuss the FEAMPA programming 2021-2027new strategies and investment opportunities in the face of 18 million euros allocated for the Abruzzo Region.
“The new FEAMPA 2021 – 2027 tenders build on the excellent results achieved in the last programming” comments the Vice President with responsibility for Agriculture and Fisheries, Emanuele Imprudente “Particularly since ‘Pact for Sustainable Development and Blue Growth’: a document that involves and affects all sectors attributable to the fishing supply chain, but also public authorities, bodies and administrations, in order to support the competitiveness of the sector with targeted interventions, focusing on shared priorities. This method of listening and dialogue was introduced with the broader strategy “Abruzzo Sustainable Blue Deal”: a space for discussion created by the Department, which was inspired by a series of key themes of sustainable development such as the Blue Economy, the European Green Deal, the UN Document on the Decade of Marine Sciences for Sustainable Development and the Regional Strategy for Sustainable Development”.
After the opening of the proceedings scheduled for 10 am, Vice President Imprudente will deliver the conclusions at 1 pm.
It will also be presented on the occasion of the States General the publication “Fishing and aquaculture in Abruzzo: An overview”: the first regional attempt to collect and reorganize supply chain data, conceived as an open tool to support all players in the sector, and carried out by the Local Development and Fish Economy Service of the Department.
The day’s agenda appears rather packed, starting with the inauguration of the new programming, resources and investments to be implemented on the basis of the agreements reached with the closure of the EMFF 2014-2020.
The foundations will then be laid to discuss, with the sector’s stakeholders and the entire partnership, the priorities to be included in the new FEAMPA regional calls for tenders which will be inspired by the three pillars of the last programming: Green Deal, Biodiversity Strategy, from producer to consumer – Farm to Fork.
It will also make its debut, the GAL Fisheries, the single regional body with a renewed and strengthened administrative structure, synthesis of the heritage, experience and knowledge of the three Abruzzo FLAGs “Costa Blu”, Costa di Pescara” and “Costa dei Trabocchi”. During the meeting, the LAG will also introduce its strategy regarding Activity From Participatory Local Development (CLLD).
The States General of Fisheries and Aquaculture in Abruzzo, thanks to their validity and importance, have once again been awarded the banner European Maritime Day 2024recognition of particular interest conferred byEuropean Union for initiatives that involve the community at a local level and reaffirm the value of our seas and the sustainable blue economy.
