On the morning of Thursday 30 May an on-site inspection

However, the Mayor officially makes it known that he will not go.
“The mayor Lorenzo Radice and the councilor for the future city Lorena Fedeli will not participate in the meeting called by Franco Tosi Meccanica on the company’s observations on the proposed variant of the Territorial Government Plan. The administration, for months, has asked the company for a meeting to discuss the merits, in the presence of their respective qualified technicians, on the critical issues complained about by the company relating to the PGT, only obtaining, with great difficulty, a meeting with the president and the director general and without any urban planning technician on 22 February, which was followed by three months without meetings or requests for appointments but only attacks in the press”.
“To deal with urban planning issues, respecting the seriousness of the topic, the economic and social parties and above all the workers involved, the municipal administration recognizes as the only venues: for political discussion, the competent commission and the council chamber and for the comparison with the company, the technical offices of the Municipality – as we hoped in the Press release in response to the note sent by the company following the commission meeting on May 16th. The appropriate location is therefore not in the company, in the presence of the city councilors and the press, moreover on the eve of the first of the city council sessions, scheduled for Thursday 30 May, in which the proposed variation to the PGT will be discussed to arrive to his approval.”
“For these reasons, – goes on– not having been able to speak in the designated places, we are forced to call a press conference on Thursday 30 May at 12.30 in the Coat of Arms room of the town hall to illustrate the position of the municipal administration, supported by the technical opinions of the offices, expressed in the counterarguments to the observations and to clarify , once and for all, on the real or presumed problems complained of by Franco Tosi Meccanica. We must do this much to protect the work of the municipal administration and the professionals of the offices and the PIM, as well as to respect the history of this company and those who today, with competence and passion, work there and – this is what we want – will continue to do it in the future, perhaps in a reality capable of developing with real projects and not words”.
