Hundreds of people on guided tours of Castrum Novum

SANTA MARINELLA – Great success of the multiple events of the weekend which saw hundreds of people take part in guided tours, gladiatorial games, educational sessions and readings at sunset in the emerging Archaeological Park of Castrum in Santa Marinella. In the area where the Municipality, through the Civic Museum Complex, has been carrying out excavations and valorisation of the site for years, it has been possible for many citizens and visitors to rediscover some aspects of the ancient world and the great work that archaeologists carry out to reconstruct it . “Thanks to the associations that gave life to the event – ​​says the archaeologist Flavio Enei, director of the Museum of the Sea and Ancient Navigation – and in particular to Nature Education, which wanted to conclude in Castrum Novum the European project which it conducted with Malta. Thanks to the SPQR association which took care of the gladiatorial show and the teachings, to the Le Voci association for the beautiful and evocative readings proposed at sunset in the theater and thanks to the Cerite Territory Archaeological Group which organized the visits and has always collaborated to the excavations, ensuring the cleaning and maintenance of the archaeological area all year round”.
