Bardunfula Fe’ 2024, three days in Sassari with the Festival dedicated to very young people – Sassari News

Sassari. The three days in Sassari (24-26 May) of the fifth edition of Bardunfula Fe’, the literary and cultural festival of Northern Sardinia, are archived to the full satisfaction of the organizers dedicated to boys and girls and girls and boys. This year the program of the city stop of the event, at the public gardens in via Tavolara, also awaited by parents, trainers and educators, was particularly rich in meetings and initiatives. Lots of enthusiasm and that joy that only the very young can infect. And so not only book presentations, but also shows, the inevitable BardunfuLab craft workshops (the ones for preparing pasta and working with wool are very welcome), as well as readings, games for everyone and artistic performances. The theme for 2024 is “… beyond the ticking of the clock”, that is, time, to reflect on it and its quality, in our fast-paced Western and contemporary world.

The Festival includes other events throughout the year, until December. The wandering nature of Fe’ is in fact confirmed, with stops, in addition to Sassari, in Alghero, Porto Torres, Olbia, Asinara, Orani, Tempio, Bonorva, Nuoro, Irgoli, Loculi, Onifai and Villaspeciosa.

Bardunfula Fe’ is a project promoted and implemented by Il Colombre Aps, in network with various bodies and associations, it is part of the Salude&Trigu Network, of the Sassari Chamber of Commerce, with the patronage of the Municipality of Sassari and the Province of Sassari, with the contribution of the Sardinia Foundation, and participates in the call for the Reading Promotion projects of the Autonomous Region of Sardinia. Bardunfula Fe’ supports the May of Books and is part of the Sassari Città che legge network of the Municipality of Sassari.

“The fifth edition of Fe’ was a sort of turning point, with many new features and also moments of training and reflection. We are very satisfied with your participation. We also speak to an adult audience, with whom we can address various issues, from new parenthood to the importance of reading from birth”, comments Daniele Salis, president of the Il Colombre association. This year’s attendance numbers show that over the three days of the festival, a total of 6,295 entries were recorded (compared to exits), with the peak on Saturday with 2,636. “Reading together with parental reference figures constitutes a fundamental and important tool for growth. We also talked about very current issues, such as foster care, an accessible tool of social solidarity for all those boys and girls who are experiencing a moment of family difficulty. Raising awareness on this topic was important. We did it together with Carmen Frajetta, guarantor of the rights of children and adolescents of the Municipality of Sassari. And obviously great success for the book presentations, always accompanied by craft and artistic workshops”.

Bardunfula Fe’ is then an international event. The participation of Gunnar Helgason, Icelandic author, as well as actor, presenter and director, winner of the Icelandic Literature Prize in 2015 and the Children’s Choice Book Prize six times, is particularly awaited. The program also includes presentations of books and illustrated books with Giovanni Colaneri, Gloria Tundo, Nadia Corfini, Ruggero Poi, Michele Cappetta, Maria Manca Pulino, Letizia Anelli and Simone Perazzone.

“We are a festival dedicated to storytelling, or rather, to the power of storytelling, reading and writing. And how these can have a great social impact both in the growth of the child and for the entire educational communityyou,” concludes Salis.

Presentations and appointments which also took place on the terrace of the Tavolara Pavilion: during the Fe’ days on the exhibition floor it was also possible to follow guided tours of the exhibition L’onda Nuragica.

Bardunfula Festival. The Festival, which on the occasion of the fifth edition becomes Bardunfula Fe’, was born in 2019 from the need to create cultural paths dedicated to the young generations. The name itself recalls childhood: bardunfula is a Sardinian word and refers to the spinning top that is pulled with string. “There is a fundamental assumption that has moved and continues to move the Festival – explains the APS il Colombre –: putting the cultural discourse and the promotion of reading, narration, telling as a springboard, because we believe that these aspects are necessary element for world building and social cohesion. There are also two important perspectives that serve to define Bardunfula: the Festival is not for the young generations but it is of the young generations. Their point of view, their voice are placed at the center because children, young men and young women are part of society, bearers of visions and actions for which the need to build shared spaces in which experiment, reason, observe, know, build the world, live and inhabit the city, the cities, the earth and experiment with relationships, in an ecological perspective”. But Fe’ is not closed to the younger generations. It is in fact adult friendly, in constant contact with places and people.

This year the Festival makes use of a scientific-artistic committee: Elena Balsamo, pediatrician specialist in childcare and expert in Montessori pedagogy; Gisella Congia, psychologist and psychotherapist, specialized in the perinatal clinic; Elena Massimo, holistic child care practitioner and certified Doula; Simone Perazzone, editor of Uovonero and expert in children’s literature; Ruggero Poi, director of the Learning Environments Office of Cittadellarte – Pistoletto Foundation, founder of Associazionedidee, Montessori trainer and director of training courses in the method.

Among the new features for 2024, as mentioned, the name that becomes shorter, Bardunfula Fe’, and a graphic rebranding operation. Taking care of this aspect is the multidisciplinary design studio Heart, based in Sardinia and which has worked on the visual identity of important festivals and museums.

The illustrative part is instead created again this year by Sara Pilloni, painter and illustrator of the Festival since the first edition.

Finally, the commitment to the environment. The Fe’ path is built following sustainable practices. The aspect of cognitive, sensorial, motor and cultural accessibility will be strengthened, but also a careful and precise verification of the impact of the festival on the territory.
