Municipal administration and Unpli Puglia reopen the doors of the Corato Infopoint – CoratoLive.it

The Municipality of Corato together with UNPLI Puglia and Pro Loco “Quadratum” opened the doors of the Tourist Information Office with a ceremony, which has been closed for a few years also due to the pandemic. It is therefore entrusted to the Union of Puglia Pro Loco, which already manages other Infopoints including some strategic ones such as those of the Ports of Bari, Brindisi and Monopoli.

Present this afternoon with its president Rocco Lauciello, UNPLI Puglia recalled how important it was to be able to open this office thanks to the presence in the area of a truly active Pro Loco like the Coratina one. The hope therefore remains to be able to see this Infopoint shine in network with others at a regional level and offer an active contribution to the promotion of the tangible and intangible heritage of the city.

The municipal administration, present with the mayor Corrado De Benedittis, the deputy mayor and councilor for Culture Beniamino Marcone and the councilor for Productive Activities with delegation to Tourism Concetta Bucci together with the rest of the council and with the director of General Affairs Avv. Giuseppe Sciscioli , expressed great satisfaction underlining how the opening of this door follows the idea of bringing about a gradual relaunch of the City and a renewed dialogue with the outside.

As regards the Infopoint, it was considered natural to entrust the management to UNPLI Puglia with the Coratina Pro Loco given the profile and history in the management of these centers in the area. The objective now is to give Corato a tourist vocation to be expressed in all its forms of communication and possible initiatives, given its positioning in the Murgia area and its centrality with respect to points of national and international tourist interest.

Happiness and pride were finally expressed by the presidency of the Pro Loco “Quadratum” with its president Gerardo Strippoli and vice-president Alberto Iurilli for this return to the management of the tourist information office as an active sentinel of the territory and guardian of traditions. Tourism is moving very quickly and Corato already embraces various of its segments, as demonstrated by the data collected: roots tourism, cultural tourism, food and wine tourism, slow tourism and walking, business tourism and religious tourism.

With this action the tourist information and reception activity is institutionalized. The Pro Loco are thus also facilitators of services for municipal administrations, also with objective economic savings. The office’s Facebook and Instagram pages are already active, as is its email [email protected]

The Infopoint is located in Piazza Sedile 45 and is open every day at the following times: from Monday to Friday and Sunday from 10.00 to 12.30 and from 18.00 to 20.30. Saturday from 9.30 to 12.30 and from 17.30 to 20.30.
