“The center-right denigrates us. Here are the projects implemented”

The center-left of Pesaro does not agree with the attack received from the centre-right mayoral candidate Marco Lanzi and Andrea Boccanera regarding the management of the city’s welfare.

“The city’s territorial social model has been attacked by the centre-right for weeks – says Luca Pandolfi, municipal councilor for Solidarity (in the photo with Giampiero Bellucci, PD secretary) -. An attack full of lies, aimed at the entire third sector and the many volunteers present in the area, but also to the Municipality’s employees. We have a system of excellence, with programming and assistance that few Municipalities in Italy can boast, based on the concept of co-planning a competitive model with a public tender, but we wanted to compare all the competent subjects, presenting 47 projects”. And he adds. “This year we have created more than 40 discussion tables to decide where to invest resources, together with the entire social community in our area”.

Pandolfi recalls one by one all the projects carried out in recent years: “I would like to mention some of them, such as the Cold Protection project, which has now become ‘Shelter for all’, started in co-planning with Caritas and Città della Gioia, for which it was possible to provide assistance also to Ukrainian refugees. The emergency social intervention, for which a professional social worker is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week the start of their working autonomy. As regards the day centres, only a few years ago an official document from Ast, Asur and the University of Urbino defined them as ‘flagship’. Added to this is the anti-violence network. projects for the elderly and aid for families, such as the anti-crisis fund which this year reached a total of 300 thousand euros and will be used as a contribution to the payment of the Tari, supporting families in difficulty. Commitment, competence and ethics are the basis of our way of acting”. Alongside councilor Pandolfi, also Giampiero Bellucci, municipal secretary of the Democratic Party: “In Pesaro there are administrators who have been carrying forward a model of excellence for many years. In particular, I would like to contest the centre-right’s delegitimisation of day centres, which are portrayed as if they were a sort of ‘parking lot’ for people with disabilities. Furthermore – adds Bellucci – I would like to remind you that a third of the budget of the Municipality of Pesaro is dedicated to welfare: an administration that has always been attentive to the needs of vulnerable people. I remind the center right that this Government has eliminated the rent fund, without giving more resources to the Municipalities.”

Then Bellucci concludes: “I advise anyone who wants to run for mayor of Pesaro to read the territorial social plan document first.”
