Reorganization of green spaces, pedestrianization and traffic management, protection of cultural heritage, redevelopment of abandoned industrial areas and mending of the urban fabric. These are the issues placed at the center of the meeting which was held in Prague in April and to which the Municipality of Cesena, represented by the architects Veronica Bartolomeo and Virginia Gualazzi of the Public Works Sector, was invited with the aim of illustrating to the European delegations present the major city projects signed by the municipal administration. After presenting the project “Abitare sociale Cesena – Reuse and regeneration of the Roverella monumental complex in the historic center” in Berlin last April, which represents an important effort on the part of the municipal administration and Asp Cesena-Valle Savio for the regeneration of the historic building which extends for over 6 thousand square meters in the heart of the historic center of the city, the municipal administration of Cesena has shared as many projects in Europe that design the city of the future: the redevelopment of Piazza della Libertà and the three squares, the the urban regeneration intervention of the areas surrounding the Cesena railway station and the de-sealing work of Case Finali.

The visit was characterized by numerous visits to significant case studies for the application of the manual’s criteria to the city of Prague in different contexts. These study visits resulted in a constructive discussion between the delegates of the various participating cities and the IPR designers on the potential and critical issues of a tool such as the Manual and on its possible applications and replicability in the different European contexts of origin.
