FRENCH JOURNALISTS VISIT TO FERRARA FOR THE ’10 MUNICIPALITIES’ PROJECT FOR THE TOURIST PROMOTION OF THE CITY ON THE FRENCH FOREIGN MARKET

Ferrara, 24 May – This weekend some French journalists are in Ferrara, as part of the 10 Municipalities project of the Italian Chamber of Commerce Nice Sophia Antipolis, Côte d’Azur.

The journalists in Ferrara these days are: Brigitte Rolland for “Sorties Media Press”, Isabelle Auzias for “Tribuca”, Christiane Georges for “Nice Matin”, Nabila Bennec for “Premium Radio”, Theo Briant for “Monaco Tribune” and l ‘influencer Caroline Lesguillons.

Ferrara has in fact joined the “10 Municipalities” project, presented to the Municipality of Ferrara by the Italian Chamber of Commerce Nice Sophia Antipolis Côte d’Azur for the tourist promotion of the city in the French foreign market. The project aims to promote tourism and territorial marketing of Italy, in particular towards France and the Principality of Monaco.

Accompanying them will be Giacomo Rinaudo, responsible for institutional affairs, and Giulia Guastalegname, his colleague, from the Italian Chamber of Commerce of Nice. Meeting them in the Castle today for a greeting is the Tourism Councilor of the Municipality of Ferrara.

They will be offered tastings of some of the most traditional Ferrarese products, primarily pumpkin cappellacci and cured meats like the Ferrarese aunt, then they will visit the Estense Castle, and always accompanied by the guide, guests will be able to discover the medieval historic centre, with the its most evocative streets such as Via delle Volte, the central squares and the Cathedral, recently reopened after many years of restoration.

Tomorrow, however, a bike tour of the walls is planned to discover the Renaissance part of the city, the Herculean Addition, with particular focus on Piazza Ariostea, the unmistakable oval-shaped square which will be the scene, the following day, of the historic Palio races, coming alive with the colours, the music and the passionate fans of the various city districts. This will be followed by a visit to Palazzo Schifanoia, an ancient suburban delight where the Este family went for leisure, away from court obligations, today a very rich museum which houses one of the most important cycles of frescoes with profane subjects of the Renaissance, the Salone dei Mesi.

The itinerary will end with a visit to the Monastery of Sant’Antonio in Polesine, and then move the following day towards the Darsena of Ferrara with boarding on the Nena boat to sail on the Po Grande, traveling at a slow pace along the waterways which were fundamental for the development of the city of Este and which today constitute an unusual cross-section, a naturalistic corridor that offers unexpected landscapes and perspectives.
