Now it’s official, Stefano Pioli will leave Milan at the end of the season. The news had been in the air for months now and we were only waiting for the formal announcement from the club which arrived on Friday morning.

The Rossoneri club has decided to move on and terminate the relationship with Pioli after 5 seasons in which the team has returned to being competitive in Italy and Europe. Pioli managed to bring the scudetto back to Milan in the 2021-22 season after 11 years of waiting and also reached a Champions League semi-final, lost against Inter. Despite some periods of difficulty and many lost derbies, the work of the Emilian coach was there for all to see. Pioli will say goodbye to San Siro tomorrow on the last day of the championship, then a new cycle will begin at Milan but with an important legacy from the former Lazio and Fiorentina coach. After Giroud, Pioli is also ready to leave Milan and now new transfer scenarios are opening up for the coach for the summer.

The official note from Milan
