Electronic Experience – Rebel Bit
The sixth edition of the “Turin Jazz Festival Piedmont” debuts today May 24th to Turin and then cross sixteen municipalities in eight provinces of Piedmont up to October. Over one hundred artists will offer jazz repertoires for a total of 26 concerts tra traditional rhythmic and melodic improvisations, experiments and contaminations in squares, theaters and unusual places.
The themes for 2024 are: “Heritage of jazz”, “Cultural contaminations” And “Electronic Frontier” with the participation of some musicians who represent the history of contemporary jazz.
_ESSENTIALLY ELLINGTON & STRAYHORN
The first of the concerts will be held this evening, Friday 24 May, at 9pm in the venue Reale Mutua Archive Museum of Palazzo Biandrate Aldobrandino di San Giorgio (via Garibaldi), built in the late medieval period. For the occasion you can visit it and learn about its history. The courtyard will be flooded with RebelBit, a team of musicians, vocal music and electronic experimentation with Giulia Cavallera, Lorenzo Subrizi, Paolo Tarolli, Guido Giordana (voices) e Andrea Trona (sound).

TRIBUTE TO DINO PIANA
Numerous concerts on the bill masterfully explore the jazz tradition, celebrating the roots and evolution of this iconic musical genre. Lots of events and artists for a real jazz tour of Piedmont in the municipalities, an opportunity to learn about the landscape, architectural and cultural beauties of our region.

_DENISE KING QUARTET
Saturday 1st June to the Alfieri Theater in Asti the trio of jazz legends, Joey Calderazzo, John Patitucci and Dave Weckl, unmissable show of virtuosity and improvisation. Friday 21 June in Piazza Municipio of the Municipality of Bruino an exciting evening of gospel and blues with the Castagnole Community Choir Band feat Alberto Marsico, followed by the performance of Mark Dufresne band feat Alex Schultz. The Asti events end on 12 July with a concert to pay homage to the famous trombonist Dino Piana. The festival continues on Friday 26 July at the Soms Theater in Racconigi with Denise King who, arriving from Philadelphia, opens his European tour in Racconigi. Concerts will follow from August to October.
