The match report in 10 moments

26′ – FAVASULI! Percussion on the right, return to the area and a left-footed shot that grazes the far post.

31′ – VERY CHANCE BARI! Cross shot from the left by Sibilli and the ball goes past Iannarilli. Di Cesare slides to correct it into the net but only ends up missing it and crashing his body into the post!

35′ – BENALI ONE ON ONE WITH IANNARILLI! The former Brescia, Pisa, Crotone and Pescara player goes to the ground after a contact with the Ternana goalkeeper, but everything is invalidated by an offside by Nasti.

45’+2 – BARI GOAL WITH DI CESARE! Sibilli’s soft corner and spectacular scissors kick from the red and white captain on his forty-first birthday and, probably, in the last match of his never-ending career: 0-1!

52′ – BARI GOAL WITH GIACOMO RICCI! Low cross from the right by Dorval, attempted stop in the area by Nasti and winning left-footed turn by the red and white midfielder, who finds the right opening: 0-2!

59′ – TWO-STEP HEADER BY DISTEFANO! Ball directed into the nearest corner: Pissardo reflexively blocks with his shin.

65′ – BARI GOAL WITH SIBILLI! Long throw from Dorval from the right, Dalle Mura completely forgets to go up due to the offside, the ball reaches the former Pisa player who turns into the area and scores with a right-footed shot deflected by the young Ternana number 6: 0-3!

67′ – NASTI MATCHES THE POKER! Yet another ball from Dorval from the right and a lob attempt deflected into a desperate exit by Iannarilli.

71′ – SIBILLI, FROM THE LEFT, LOOKS FOR DORVAL IN THE AREA! Extraordinary exit with Iannarilli’s feet.

84′ – GOAL CANCELLED AT BARI WITH BENALI! the Anglo-Libyan playmaker exchanges with Morachioli and scores with a powerful right-footed shot from the edge of the post. But Morachioli himself was offside.

The best

Of Caesar. His is an extraordinary tale. On the evening of his 41st birthday and – perhaps – his last match of his career, the captain opened such a delicate match with a sensational scissors kick at the end of the first half, guiding his Bari to safety. An epilogue which, probably, with all these details, did not exist even in his most beautiful dreams.

The worst

From the Walls. Worst on the pitch in the first leg, worst on the pitch in the return match. I agree with the young age, but it is unacceptable that, in such a delicate match, the young defender born in 2002 on loan from Fiorentina forgets to go up for offside, giving the “A” to Sibilli’s 0-3.
