Trento Economics Festival – 19th edition: “Quo vadis? The dilemmas of our time”

From the 23 to 26 May 2024the Representation in Italy of the European Commission, the Office of the European Parliament in Italy and the European Investment Bank (EIB) participate in the XIX edition of the Trento Economics Festival for meetings on the main current European economic issues.

In Trento, numerous representatives of national and European institutions, together with experts in the focus subjects of this year’s edition of the Festival.

Between these:

  • the European Commissioner for Economic Affairs, Paolo Gentlemenwhich will hold a dialogue on the future of European economic policy “Next generation Eu: what prospects after 2026” The May 25th.
  • the Director General for Digital Policies of the European Commission (DG Connect), RobertoViola for two meetings “The role of Europe between the United States and China in the map of artificial intelligence” And “Artificial Intelligence Act” The May 24;
  • the Director General of the Directorate General for Communication of the European Parliament Jaume Duch for two meetings the May 25thone titled “The Europe we want” and the other“Europe, the reasons for abstentionism and why it is not worth it” on May 25th
  • Furthermore, Gelsomina VigliottiVice President of the EIB, will take part in the panel ‘‘In 2024, more energy will be produced from fossil fuels than ten years ago. How to get out of it?” on May 23rd and at the Fuori Festival talk “A European industrial policy for innovative technologies: more united, more innovative, more competitive” on May 25th. The EIB will also be represented by Ioanna-Victoria KyritsiHead of the Strategy and Business Development division of EIB Global, who for a meeting on ‘‘Africa and the Mattei plan” The May 24th.

For the entire duration of the Festival, a permanent stand at Piazza Duomo will offer opportunities for discussion and learning between EU representatives and experts and the future generation of Europe. The European Parliament’s institutional campaign will be promoted at the stand “Use your vote” with the to promote citizen participation in the next European elections on 8/9 June.
