Trapani-Cavese, travel ban for visiting fans

The Prefect of Trapani, Daniela Lupo, has ordered a ban on the sale of tickets to residents in the province of Salerno for the Trapani-Cavese match valid for the Serie D Scudetto scheduled for Sunday 19 May. On the same day the match between Siracusa Calcio and La Fenice Amaranto Reggio Calabria will be held. The provision was adopted, after consulting the Police Commissioner, following the assessments expressed by the Analysis Committee for the safety of sporting events due to the rivalry between the Cavese and LFA Reggio Calabria fans and the simultaneous movement of the same to their respective venues of the tender, to protect public order and for the safety of users of the road sections affected by transit.

Trapani-Cavese for the Poule Scudetto

Trapani-Cavese is the match that decides the third round of the Serie D Scudetto Championship. For the assignment of the Italian category title, at the end of the regular season, the nine first-placed teams are divided into three triangular groups and meet in one way. In the second round, whoever won the first match rests or, in case of a draw, the one who played the first away match. The winners of the triangular tournaments and the best second place advance to the semi-finals, which are defined by draw and which will be played this year with home and away matches. The final is instead confirmed as a single match on a neutral pitch and without extra time: in the event of a draw it goes directly to penalties.

Trapani’s record season

Trapani achieved a 3-0 success at Altamura and is almost certain of progressing to the next round: an home draw against Cavese who beat the Apulian team 1-0 at home will be enough. Alfio Torrisi’s team dominated their championship group: 94 points, the result of 30 wins and 4 draws, 95 goals scored and just 15 conceded. A triumphant ride for his return to the professional ranks.
