Around 220 delegates from all over Italy have been in Sanremo since this morning for the 62nd FIDAS National Congress. An appointment which, in addition to the two days of assembly work and the election of new federal offices, will also feature the 41st FIDAS Donor Day.

At the center of the debate is importance of the self-sufficiency of blood and its products Which strategic objective to be achieved for the country, both in normal conditions and in critical periods. A meeting between experts to compare European transfusion systems and to take stock, in one round table to be held tomorrow at 10on how different models and best practices can be used as effective tools to ensure the appropriateness of blood resource management.

Giving their contribution to this comparison is Professor Vincenzo De Angelisdirector of the Italian National Blood Center, of the French one, Professor Jean Baptiste Thibertand the Swiss one, professor Stefano Fontana, together with other experts and the presidents of blood donor associations. The meeting will also be an opportunity to highlight the importance of blood donation in contemporary medical practice and the role they play donors and donors in the social-health sector.

These data photograph a situation that clearly outlines why donating blood and plasma is a fundamental value for a civil society”.

This year the theme chosen for the Congress is “The drop that makes life flourish again” which represents the very essence of FIDAS’ mission, and which will see protagonists in the city known throughout the world for its flowers and the great singing festival 80 Federated, 200 delegatesabout 3,000 people from the world of volunteering. “The Congress will also be an opportunity to celebrate the results of the FIDAS Federations which, during 2023, have made a decisive contribution to the national autonomy of blood and blood components. But also a way to recognize – concludes President FiDAS – the extraordinary value of the contribution that this part of the world makes every day to the well-being of the community in which it lives”.
