In the evocative museum rooms of the Archaeological Park of Lilibeo – Marsala, on Saturday 18 May you will be able to travel into the past, among precious finds from the sea and the city, and between music and poetry. In fact, the usual appointment with the European Night of Museums is back, the initiative born with the patronage of the Council of Europe, UNESCO and ICOM, to enhance European cultural identity by involving museums from all over Europe, and also the city ​​of Marsala, a stone’s throw from the sea, where the history of the Mediterranean lives, among incredible Punic testimonies and jewels of the Roman Empire, is ready with a program full of initiatives called “Between poetry and music”.

Starting from 7.00 pm and until 8.30 pm, in the Maria Luisa Famà conference room, a meeting will be held on “Poetry as an alternative present”, with Diletta D’Angelo, Gaia Giovagnoli, Laura Pugno, and with Marco Marino who will lead the conversation. The event is organized by the 38° parallel cultural association in collaboration with the “Ruggieri” scientific high school of Marsala. Entrance is free.

A visit to the Museum is scheduled from 9pm to midnight, at the symbolic cost of 1 euro, with musical performances by students and teachers of the “Antonio Scontrino” Conservatory of Trapani. In particular, the following will perform: Ivan Strano on guitar, Giorgia Grutta and Giuseppe Mazara on saxophone and accordion; Giuseppe Morana on guitar; Alice Anelli and Silvia Pastorello on piano and English horn; Claudio Terzo on guitar; Marco Buttaci on saxophone; Davide Scardino on guitar and finally the flute quartet “Le Nereidi” composed of Maria Aurora Modica, Ilenia Cruciata, Chiara Vassallo and Martina Fanara.

“Our Museum also opens its doors on the occasion of the historic event that combines art and entertainment in a single evening party for citizens and tourists – says the Park Director, Anna Occhipinti –. We invite everyone to intervene, to take ownership of our places of culture, enjoying a moment of relaxation outside the usual visiting hours”.
