The agents of the Flying Squad of Reggio Calabria have implemented the arrest of a crime suspect ordered by the local Public Prosecutor’s Office against two people from Reggio, a man and a woman living together, PG and RP, ordering respectively custody in prison and house arrest, held responsible for the aggravated robbery committed on damage to the commercial activity Bingo, located in the Archi area, in which circumstance 41,000 euros were stolen.

Employee threatened with a toy gun

The identification of the two was achieved following meticulous investigative activity, which made it possible to find that the man – according to the Police – had physically carried out the robbery by entering the business completely misrepresented wearing, over his clothes, a short-sleeved uniform for cosmetic/healthcare use and a neck warmer to cover the face, threatening one of the employees with a gun, which later turned out to be a toy, having the safe opened where the cash was contained, which he took possession of, promptly fleeing aboard a car with a stolen license plate affixed above the real one.

Woman’s support

The woman, as emerged from the investigations, provided material and logistical support to the perpetrator of the robbery in order to guarantee him impunity and the seizure of the money.

Specifically, as has been carefully reconstructed by the Flying Squad investigators, through the analysis of the images of various city video surveillance systems, to carry out the robbery the two accomplices, in order to evade the investigations, would have used 2 cars, of one of which is rented by the woman and the other is used by the man.

Therefore, on the day of the robbery, the man went to the Bingo with the rented car – to which he had affixed the stolen plates – and, once the crime had been committed, he disappeared, reaching the woman who was waiting for him, not very far from the Archi district, on the car used by the man. Once together the two would have switched driving cars and the stolen license plates would have been removed, in order to make it even more difficult for the police to identify them.

The arrest of a crime suspect ordered by the local Public Prosecutor’s Office was subsequently validated by the investigating judge, at the same time imposing restrictive measures similar to those of the arrest.
