ROSE GARDEN. At the turn of Easter, the investigation into the tragic end of the 16-year-old from Rosetta who was found by his younger brother hanging in his bedroom with his trouser belt on the night between Friday and Saturday has taken its first steps and today there could be the first news. The prosecutor Francesca Zani must first decide whether or not to order an autopsy. It seems more likely that the examination of the boy’s body will not take place, because the fact that he died from strangulation appears unequivocal and because the first inspection conducted by a forensic doctor shortly after the discovery of the body did not find any injuries that could suggest involvement of third parties. However, the possibility of an autopsy taking place cannot yet be ruled out.
The magistrate’s decision apparently depends on the first investigations carried out in the last 48 hours by the Roseto police, questioning family and friends of the boy, who left no message to explain a possible extreme gesture and who does not appear to have suffered from depression. The hypothesis of a tragic game still remains on the table, perhaps induced by the extreme challenges launched on the web and popular among teenagers. For this reason, prosecutor Zani ordered the seizure of the 16-year-old’s personal computer and cell phone, but it will take weeks for a specialist to conclude an analysis of what is contained in the devices.
The impression is that the tragedy that struck first and foremost the young man’s family, of Romanian origins but very well integrated, and the entire city community, in particular the school community of the Moretti institute, could remain forever without a reason. (red.te)
