• American reconfirms the second daily connection between Rome (FCO) and New York (JFK) which will operate starting June 5, 2024.
• During the 2024 summer season, American will operate up to 11 direct flights to the United States from four Italian airports.
• American’s expanded Italian network operations include two new connections for 2024.

American Airlines continues to expand its operations to offer passengers from the United States more ways to admire ancient ruins, navigate the city of canals, relax sunbathing on the Amalfi Coast, taste real Neapolitan pizza or follow the latest fashion trends in Italy. At the same time, American will offer passengers from Italy the opportunity to conveniently reach numerous final destinations across the United States, Canada, the Caribbean and Latin America, with five US hubs connected directly from Italy. This summer, American will also restore its second daily flight between Rome (FCO) and New York (JFK).

“We are thrilled to be expanding our transatlantic network this summer, which includes new flights from Naples and an additional daily flight from Rome to JFK,” said José Freig, Vice President, International Operations. “With 11 daily flights between Italy and the United States, American’s summer schedule offers passengers easier access to enjoy their summer holidays by experiencing experiences in unforgettable places.”

American Airlines’ operations in Italy

This summer American will fly from Rome (FCO), Milan (MXP), Naples (NAP) and Venice (VCE), offering passengers multiple opportunities to plan their summer vacation.
American operates year-round flights between Milan Malpensa (MXP) and New York (JFK), between Rome (FCO) and Philadelphia (PHL), and between Rome (FCO) and Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW). The daily seasonal connection between New York (JFK) and Rome (FCO) will be operational starting March 31. The second daily flight between New York (JFK) and Rome (FCO) will be reintroduced starting June 5 and will operate until October 25, extending the season by nearly four months.

For the first time since 2019, on June 5 American will reintroduce the seasonal connection between Venice (VCE) and Chicago (ORD) with a Boeing 787-9 capable of carrying up to 285 passengers. This summer, American will start the season early on flights to Venice (VCE), with nonstop service to Philadelphia (PHL) starting April 4.
