Another woman killed by her husband. The violence suddenly exploded in a condition of familiar exasperation and in a ferocious manner. A woman died yesterday evening in Fano (Pesaro-Urbino) in her home in the Poderino district, strangled by her husband.

The man then tried to take his own life by ingesting barbiturates. The crime was discovered by the children who were waiting for their parents for dinner and, given the delay, they went to call them. The 112 alarm was given around 9pm.

Yet another feminicide

Yet another femicide, a few days before the day against violence against women, overwhelms a seventy-year-old married couple, a wealthy family who lives in a villa in via Montefeltro, a secluded street between Poderino and Fano 2. The victim is Rita Talamelli, the husband who, according to the first investigation of the crime scene, is accused of having strangled her, is Angelo Sfuggiti. A former businessman well known in the city because until 5 years ago together with his brother he managed the Angelo pizzeria in Rosciano, a business conducted successfully for almost half a century (48 years), with the headquarters first near the former Paolini barracks, then transferred to the peripheral hamlet. In 2018 the pizzeria was sold to the I Talenti cooperative, which uses it to encourage the inclusion of disabled children.

The investigation

The murder, which the state police station is investigating, was committed in the shadow of an illness that had changed the family balance to the point of corroding, according to the evidence, the marital relationship. Mrs. Rita had been hit by an aneurysm from which she never fully recovered neurologically. She was followed at home by the health services. Her husband Angelo had dedicated himself from the beginning to caring for her wife, he was at her side, he accompanied her on walks near her house. The woman’s condition had recently worsened.

Angelo Sfuggiti was found by his children in his home in a confused state. At 10.30pm yesterday the ambulance left the house in via Montefeltro to take him to hospital after the suicide attempt. The investigators were still in the house carrying out the investigations. The man is under arrest, guarded by the police.
