«The transit of an Atlantic disturbance and its subsequent deepening between the two largest islands will determine, tomorrow, a phase of bad weather in our central regions, with phenomena that will tend to persist in the middle Adriatic, accompanied by a strengthening of ventilation with a predominantly northern component -eastern”, announced the Department of Civil Protection, which issued a new warning of adverse weather conditions. From tomorrow, Tuesday 21 November, «scattered to widespread precipitation, including showers or thunderstorms, is expected in Marche, Umbria, Abruzzo and scattered precipitation in Lazio, especially in the northern sectors. The phenomena will be accompanied by heavy showers, frequent electrical activity and strong gusts of wind.” A “yellow alert will therefore be issued for the entire territory of Lazio, Umbria, Marche, Abruzzo and sectors of Tuscany, Campania, Basilicata and Calabria”.
The passage of bad weather, region by region
As the disturbance passes, there will also be a drastic change in temperatures. The snow will begin to whiten the Apennines at increasingly lower altitudes, even below 1200. The Mediterranean cyclone, according to what the director of ‘-’ Antonio Sanò informs, will initially hit mainly Marche, Umbria, the Apennines and then Abruzzo , Campania and internal areas of Tuscany and Lazio. Also followed by Emilia Romagna. North-eastern winds are favored in the North and again from the west/southwest over the rest of Italy. On Wednesday the bad weather will move rapidly towards the lower Tyrrhenian Sea. Precipitation will also reach the South, again Campania, but also Sicily and Calabria and locally Puglia.
