Fifth victory in as many matches and confirmation of the solitary first place for the men’s Italy to European Curling Championships 2023ongoing ad Aberdeen, Scotland: The blueinitially lined up with Joël Retornaz (Fiamme Oro), Amos Mosaner (Fiamme Oro), Sebastiano Arman (Fiamme Oro) and Mattia Giovanella (Fiamme Gialle), with Alberto Pimpini as alternates, they annihilate the Czech Republic in just six ends of Lukas Klima, Marek Cernovsky, Martin Jurik and Lukas Klipa, with Radek Bohac as reserve, forced to concede the victory with a score of 8-1.

Italy wins the hammer, thanks to an excellent Last Stone Draw by Retornaz and Giovanellaand immediately takes advantage of the last stone available to score two points. The Azzurri bridle the Czechs very well and in the second half they steal the lead, going 3-0. The Czech Republic broke the deadlock in the third end, thanks to the last shot, but in the fourth round Italy in turn gets a point, bringing the score to 4-1.

The the blue masterpiece, however, materializes in the fifth end, when Italydespite shooting before his opponents, sends the Czechs into a tailspin and steals the hand again, this time taking home three points, thus reaching the halfway point of the match at 7-1. After the break Italy returns to the ice fielding Alberto Pimpini in place of Amos Mosaner: the Azzurri continue to dominate the game and, despite the last stone available to their opponents, they still steal the hand. Down 8-1, the Czechs decide to concede the victory after six ends to Italy.
