A big party in Piazza San Giustino welcomed the arrival of 2026 in Chieti. Hundreds of people participated in the show created and hosted by the Theatine actor Federico Perrotta, supported by his colleague and wife Valentina Olla.
An event designed for all generations, including comedy, music and prominent guests.
The comedian and impersonator Claudio Lauretta, the showgirl Matilde Brandi and the Abruzzo tenor Piero Mazzocchetti took turns on stage, accompanied by the Red Band. After midnight, DJ Heinz made the square dance with an 80s and 90s set.
“Yesterday’s was a new, participatory and lively celebration for families, confirming the importance of having brought New Year’s Eve back to the square: not only did everything go well, despite the cold and the massive concurrent events in the nearby cities, but the show was truly beautiful and the city breathed its potential again, or rather, its nature, the one to which we have been dedicating ourselves for five years, so that culture, entertainment and events can give it back a slice of the economy that Chieti deserves, for its beauty and because it is the capital city – says the deputy mayor and councilor for events Paolo De Cesare -. Now we focus on another important event, the Living Nativity scene on 6 January, which will attract thousands of people to Chieti for the grand conclusion of the Christmas holidays. Thanks go to the Teatro community and to the many who have arrived from outside the city, to the municipal offices, to our local police, to the police and to the civil protection associations who are always invaluable in providing support and help to the community on these occasions. It was a show made economically and thanks to the sponsorships of partners such as Toto Holding, Walter Tosto, Megalò who are always present in the city’s entertainment, together with the precious contribution of Rete 8 which also took our evening outside the city limits. A good start that pushes us to work with even greater determination for the future of our beloved city, which is the most beautiful sign of a city that believes in its own spaces and in its own community. trust and desire to continue investing in culture, events and sharing”.
