New Year’s Eve in Mantua lights up with music, shows and emotions to greet the year that is ending and welcome the new one. From Vinicio Capossela in Piazza Sordello to the ballroom at PalaUnical there will be no shortage of opportunities to have fun and celebrate together.
Sordello Square
The big New Year’s Eve party in Piazza Sordello will begin at 9.30pm with a DJ set by Blue Mondaysthe care of Pop Start. Blue Mondays it is a project of Ferratzingher & Keemaniboth in the Italian underground house scene since the early 2000s, who have always cultivated a vast background, from rock to disco. The concert will then begin at 10pm Vinicio Capossela which will range in his vast repertoire of songs dedicated to the theme of the party.
From the latest work “Sciusten feste n. 1965” to the iconic songs of the past such as “Al veglione” and “All’una trentcinque circa”Capossela, fresh from the two traditional Christmas concerts at the Fuori Orario in Taneto di Gattatico, will know how to make Piazza Sordello dance, exorcise the farewell to 2025 and toast the arrival of 2026. The singer-songwriter of Irpinia origins is a master in square concerts and, among his most successful performances, always include those where the dimension of the party is central. Swing, jazz, rock’n’roll, all combined with traditional and popular music, will be the basis of a setlist that will run through his entire production. During the show, then, there will be no shortage of disguises by the artist, who has cabaret experience alongside Paolo Rossi. The event, organized by the Municipality of Mantua with the collaboration of Mister Wolfconfirms the city’s attention to great music. Immediately after midnight, the fireworks show will begin which will illuminate the city lakefront and the beginning of 2026 in Mantua. Once the fireworks have concluded, i Blue Mondays they will return to the stage in Piazza Sordello to celebrate until 2 in the morning.
PalaUnical
At PalaUnical, however, a second end-of-year party is taking place. Tonight, in fact, the structure in via Melchiorre Gioia hosts an evening of dancing dedicated to the classics of Italian smooth, cabaret and dance from the Seventies and Eighties. There will be three show moments until the midnight toast which will accompany the public into the new year.
It starts at 9.15pm with Moreno il Biondo & Orchestra Grande Eventoicon of the smooth, virtuoso of the clarinet and saxophone who during his career has collaborated with the largest orchestras in the Romagna panorama.
With the Grande Evento Orchestra they will also be present Fiorenzo and Mauro Ferrara. Then, around 11pm, the comedian and cabaret artist will take the stage Duilio Pizzocchian artist who also appeared in some episodes of Zelig, known for his most famous characters such as the unruly truck driver Ermete Bottazzi and the invasive painter of the same name from Ferrara. At the stroke of midnight, a collective toast to celebrate the arrival of the new year, including glasses, pandoros and panettone. We will then return to dancing to 70s/80s dance music with the band “The pork rinds”, a group born at the beginning of 1989 with the cult of dance and with a cheerful and dynamic sound that makes their concerts explosive.
Disco parties
The disco Mascara prepare a special New Year’s Eve with four different shows. In the Live room you dance with the Mattia Agostini Orchestra; in the Lemon room the Latin passion is released with the Last Night of the Year; in the Diva room you travel through the most beautiful music from the seventies to today with DJs Enrico Toffa and, finally, in the Vanità room there will be Memorieswith commercial music, house and reggaeton.
