On the occasion of the longest New Year’s Eve in the world, the Municipality of Rimini has prepared an expansion of public transport services: to facilitate travel, small trains and enhanced buses have been made available, which connect the sea to the historic center and vice versa, during the New Year’s Eve events.
In addition to the free ‘C’entro facile’ train service, which connects the main car parks to the historic centre, on the evenings of 29, 30 and 31 December, there will be an enhanced night public transport service with two trains that will shuttle between Viale Vespucci (bus stops, from the Pascucci bar to Piazza Marvelli) and the car park in Piazza Gramsci in the historic center (passing through Via Tripoli, Via Bastioni Orientali and the station), with trips running every Approximately 20/30 minutes. On the night of December 31st, local public transport, including the Metromare, provides a free night service from 8pm, to allow you to move comfortably between the seaside area and the historic center until late at night. Here are all the services in detail:
The free train for the holidays
The free train service allows you to reach the historic center from the city’s main car parks throughout the holiday period. The transport lines are those departing from the Settebello car parks in via Roma and Marzabotto in via Caduti di Marzabotto, to which are added the trains departing from the Palacongressi car park and departing from the Celle.
The shuttle times include runs from 9am to 12.45pm and from 3pm to 7.30pm (on January 1st the service is only active in the afternoon) with departures approximately every 30 minutes.
The service is active every day, with the exception of Christmas Day, while on December 26th and January 1st the service takes place only in the afternoon.
The stops are in correspondence with the Tpl stops.
Celle line: departure from the Celle-Sacramora roundabout with arrival in viale Tiberio (without intermediate stops)
Settebello line: departure from the Settebello car park, arrival in Piazza Tre Martiri (without intermediate stops)
Marzabotto line: departure from the Tpl stop near the registry car park, intermediate stop in front of the Zavatta center (via Zannoni) and arrival in Piazza Malatesta.
Palacongressi Line: departure from the Tpl stop in front of the Palacongressi and arrival at the Arco d’Augusto (without making intermediate stops).
New Year’s Eve special with the tourist train
At the end of the C’entro Facile service, which allows you to reach the historic center during the holidays (active until 8pm), Rimini’s trains will operate a free service which will enhance evening public transport to connect the historic center to Marina Centro and vice versa, on the evenings of 29, 30 and 31 December 2025, on the occasion of the events that will take place in the historic center and in Piazzale Kennedy al mare.
For the three evenings, two trains will be available that will travel between Viale Vespucci (bus stops, from the Pascucci bar to Piazza Marvelli) and the Piazza Gramsci car park in the historic center (passing via Tripoli, via Bastioni orientali and the station), with trips running approximately every 20’/30′. In particular, the service will operate:
– Monday 29 and Tuesday 30 December: from 9.00 pm to 00.30 am
– Wednesday 31 December: from 9.00 pm to 3.00 am
New Year’s Eve 2026, local public transport timetables
On the night of December 31st, local public transport, including the Metromare, provides a free night service from 8pm, to allow you to move comfortably between the seaside area and the historic center until late at night.
The additional special New Year’s service includes:
Line 4. The service on the line will be extended and strengthened, free from 8.00 pm, with runs every 45 minutes.
– Last bus departing from Rimini for San Mauro Mare at 03.30
– Last bus departing from San Mauro Mare for Rimini at 02.05
Metromare. The service will be extended and strengthened, free from 8.00 pm, with runs every 15 minutes.
– Last race departing from Rimini at 03.30
– Last race departing from Riccione at 03.26
Line 11. The evening line 11 will be active and free from 8.00 pm, with runs every 25 minutes, from 8.25 pm to 3.40 am.
– Last bus departing from Rimini for Riccione at 03.05
– Last bus departing from Riccione for Rimini at 03.40
Line 11 will also be upgraded on the evenings of 29 and 30 December (paid service), with runs every 25 minutes from 8.25pm to 1.35am.
– Last bus from Rimini to Riccione at 01.00
– Last bus from Riccione to Rimini at 01.35
On 1 January 2026, public transport will operate on public holiday schedules, with service starting at 7am.
Traffic in the historic center
To allow the events of “The longest New Year’s Eve in the world” to take place, which will take place in the historic center of Rimini on 29, 30, 31 December, a parking ban “with forced removal” and the total temporary closure of Piazza Malatesta, (portion of the square on the Ravenna side in front of the Galli Theatre), has been established in the period from 7am on Saturday 27 December 2025 to 6pm on Friday 2 January 2026.
The transit ban is also extended to cycles and scooters and the train, if passing within the areas subject to total temporary closure, will carry out route diversions, with the establishment of any temporary stops.
