Florence, 30 December 2025 – There are just a few hours left until the celebrations for the New Year’s Eve in Florence. The heart of New Year’s Eve in Florence will be Piazza Santa Croce, where the arrival of 2026 will be greeted with a great free musical event, promoted by the Municipality of Florence and organized by the MUS.E Foundation in collaboration with Sky and with main sponsor Plures. But the party will embrace the entire historic center: from gospel in Piazza Santissima Annunziata to jazz in Piazza del Carmine, up to the light show in Piazza della Signoria.
The program in the squares
Piazza Santa Croce: The heart of Pop (9.00pm – 1.00am). At the center of the evening, a live musical show that will see the artists alternate on stage with sets of songs and moments of dialogue and storytelling. The hosting of the evening will be entrusted to Leo Di Bello, face of Sky Sport, who will accompany the public during the event, intertwining music and words. The stage will host an exceptional cast. The evening will be animated by Paola Iezzi, singer-songwriter, musician, record producer, deejay who has marked Italian pop music in recent decades and protagonist at the judges’ table of the last two editions of singer-songwriter and producer capable of combining electronic and pop sounds in an original and explosive mix and two of the revelations of X Factor 2025, LAYANA and TOMASI, appreciated for their interpretative strength in the Sky music show. Opening and closing the event, designed to welcome the public and accompany them until the end of the celebrations, was Lele Sacchi’s exclusive DJ set, which made the best clubs around the world go wild and vibrate. In Piazza Santissima Annunziata an evening with Gospel Symphony (10.30 pm – 1.00 am). In the Loggiato dello Spedale degli Innocenti, the Fiorentina Chamber Orchestra will accompany the choirs The Pilgrims and Light Gospel Choir for a journey through spiritual, pop and rock. In piazza del Carmine great signature jazz (10.30pm – 12.45am): the churchyard will be transformed into an open-air jazz club with the Nico Gori Young Lions and the extraordinary participation of the trumpeter Fabrizio Bosso. In Piazza della Signoria will stage the Florence Lights Up: near midnight, the facade of Palazzo Vecchio will become the stage for an evocative projected countdown, integrated with the play of light of the artistic videomapping curated by MUS.E.
How traffic changes
Regarding mobility, no stop ZTL confirmed: the Ztl will be active continuously from 7.30am on Wednesday 31st until 8am on 1st January with the usual daytime provision method (sectors A, B and O with switching on and control of the telematic doors). By way of derogation, the possibility of simultaneous transit is also provided for the second cars of residents of sectors A, B and O whose license plate number is shown on the paper permit (in the event of checks by the Municipal Police it will be sufficient to show the registration document certifying residence in the prohibited area). Green light also for vehicles in possession of the permit for the night parking area foreseen by the ZTL regulations.
Public transport
To encourage participation in events by public transport, the service on some of the main bus lines will be strengthened the tram will travel non-stop. In addition to the service lines C1, C2, C3 e C4 until 10pm (extended time activated from 8 December until 6 January), on New Year’s Eve the lines 6, 11, 14, 17 and 23 will run approximately every 30 minutes from 8.30pm to 2.30am. Furthermore, a free shuttle will be established at the same times to connect the Oltrarno with Piazzale Michelangelo, running approximately every 15 minutes.

Parking
To leave the car and reach the event locations by public transport or on foot, the parking spaces will be open and operational. Villa Costanza (at the terminus of T1), of Ponte a Greve (at the Nenni stop of T1) and Guidoni (at the T2 stop of the same name). Furthermore, they are always active discounted rates in the Florence Parking lots of Santa Maria Novella, Parterre, Sant’Ambrogio, Oltrarno, Porta a Prato, Binario 16 SMN, Fortezza, Beccaria, San Lorenzo: 1 euro per hour from 6pm to midnight. To get the controlled price it is necessary to use the BMOVE app to pay for parking.
Glass barrels and containers are prohibited
A New Year’s Eve full of music and joy without glass containers in the historic center and with the ban on exploding firecrackers extended to the whole city: this provides for a union ordinance prepared in agreement with the Prefecture, with some prevention measures. From 7pm on 31 December until 7am on 1 January, the takeaway sale of drinks of any kind in glass containers will be prohibited in public places accessible to the public in the UNESCO area. It is also forbidden to serve takeaway drinks of any kind in glasses or other glass containers (saves administration at the counter and at the table in the spaces used by public administration establishments); it will also be forbidden to possess, even for one’s own consumption, drinks of any kind in glass containers, and to possess canisters with stinging sprays in a manner that allows their immediate use (the historic center included in the following perimeter, to be considered included in the prohibited area: viale Strozzi, piazzale Caduti dell’Egeo, viale Montelungo, viale Fratelli Rosselli, piazzale Vittorio Veneto, Lungarno Vespucci, Ponte Vespucci, Lungarno Soderini, via Lungo le Mura di Santa Rosa, viale Ariosto, viale Petrarca, piazzale di Porta Romana, viale dei Cipressi, via Madonna della Pace, via di San Leonardo, via dei Bastioni, Lungarno Cellini, Ponte a San Niccolò, Lungarno della Zecca Vecchia, viale Giovine Italia, piazza Beccaria, viale Gramsci, piazzale Donatello, viale Matteotti, piazza della Libertà, viale Lavagnini, viale Strozzi).
In the same ordinance, nsame times, the possession or explosion of pyrotechnic devices (both classified and freely available) such as barrels or firecrackers and any other explosive material in all public spaces or accessible to the public in the town center of Florence. Violators are subject to a fine of up to 500 euros and the seizure of illegitimately held items.
