The preview of Rimini’s longest New Year’s Eve got off to a great start. On Monday evening (29 December) Piazza Malatesta was filled with audiences to welcome Edoardo Bennato and his live performance “Sono solo canzonette”. A packed square that sang and danced together with the Neapolitan singer-songwriter, protagonist of over fifty years of Italian music between rock, blues and civil commitment. Bennato’s contagious energy and his timeless songs warmed up the Rimini night, officially kicking off the celebrations that will accompany the city into the new year.
The festive atmosphere continues on Tuesday 30 December, again in Piazza Malatesta, with Francesca Michielin’s concert (9.15pm, free entry). One of the most versatile and innovative voices on the Italian music scene will bring an intense and varied setlist to the stage, including his most famous songs and singles taken from the new EP “Anime”. Accompanying her is an all-female band made up of Viviana Colombo, Giorgia Canton, Sofia Volpiana and Maura De Santis. The opening, from 8.30 pm, will be entrusted to a pre show with the Discoradio talents: Matteo Epis, Valentina Guidi and Edo Munari will warm up the audience waiting for the artist.
