The Loneliest by Maneskin wins the Best Italian Videoclip Award 2022-2023. The recognition, wanted by ImagInAction and established in collaboration with Fimi, Afi and Pmi, will be awarded tomorrow, Wednesday, at the Teatro Comunale of Ferrara as part of the International Videoclip Festival. ImagInAction viewed over 1100 music videos, a record number for our country, published between January 2022 and June 2023. The Festival Academy – made up of journalists and music critics and chaired by the artistic director, director Stefano Salvati – expressed its own preference out of 24 video clips selected for the final, considered the best of the reference period: The Loneliest was declared the winner. The video, written and directed by Tommaso Ottomano, and recently awarded at the 2023 MTV VMAs, has a strong dark component with cinematic references typical of the Gothic style. “The surreal and dark atmosphere of an elegant and gloomy funeral in the pouring rain – explains the motivation – is perfect in highlighting the melancholy and poignant shades of the ballad with a classic rock flavor with which the band returns to the genre of some of the his greatest successes”.
